Women's Wellbeing Yoga

Women's Wellbeing Yoga brings us home to ourselves as women. To honour the natural cycles of our womb life is to dance in time with the cosmic rhythms of the universe

Women's Wellbeing Yoga, nourishes every aspect of our lives as women, whether we have a womb, or not, whether we menstruate, or not, and whether we are maidens, mothers, wild women or crones!

Womb Yoga is an evolving therapeutic approach to yoga specially developed to support women's health and healing since 1999 by Uma Dinsmore-Tuli.

Womb Yoga is a simple, subtle and delightful route to access feminine spiritual authority, a powerful set of techniques and attitudes for all women to use on their journeys toward spiritual empowerment, self acceptance and contentment.

Womb yoga enables us to re-connect joyfully with naturally arising inner wisdom, insight and vitality. It is both delicious and profoundly nourishing. It is healing and vitalising.

To practice Womb Yoga is to honour and embrace the original blood wisdom of your womb, or womb space energies, as the source of feminine intuition, connection, creativity and nurture.

What is Womb Yoga?

Womb Yoga is all about reconnecting with the deep blood wisdom of womb cycles throughout the whole of a woman's life, from pre-menarche to post-menopause. The practice of Womb Yoga enables us to access the inner guidance of our source wisdom so that we may more readily reside in wellbeing and peace with our experiences as women. The complete fully illustrated guide to this practice, which includes an exploration of the history of women in yoga and the politics of contemporary yoga practice, as well as much vibrant and vivid testimony from many women yoga practitioners, is now available.

Menstruation

Womb Yoga is not just about yoga therapy to support healthy menstruation, or a positive menarche and conscious understanding of the powerful psychic, physical and emotional cycles; but to practice Womb Yoga is to fully honour and welcome the feminine embodiment of these lunar rhythms as key to women's self-knowledge.

Sexuality, fertility, pregnancy and birth

Womb Yoga is not just about yoga to resonate in tune with the experiences of feminine sexuality, fertility and conscious conception (and contraception); yet to practice Womb Yoga is to deepen and refine our encounters with these intense manifestations of Shakti (the life force) in our lives, and to experience them fully, joyfully and with conscious awareness of their significance as yoga: experiences of cosmic union. Neiter is Womb Yoga just about yoga to support pregnancy and birth (including premature, assisted and Caesarean births); but to practice Womb Yoga is to discover new perspectives and deep strength to encounter fearlessly these powerful experiences as portals to spiritual empowerment and Self discovery.

Womb-life challenges and reconciliations

Womb Yoga is not just about finding yoga to face the challenges of miscarriages, abortions, womb losses, suffering and traumas of all kinds; yet to practice Womb Yoga can bring us into a positive relationship with the nurturing and creative feminine energies of our womb, reaching places of forgiveness, acceptance and love to create positive healing and expand consciousness.

Pelvic organ support

Womb Yoga is not just about discovering yoga which can promote profound and lasting postnatal recovery or effective management of pelvic organ prolapse; but to practice Womb Yoga is to gain security, strength and support at the very foundation of our being, and to engage with postural awareness and inner pelvic health that can create lifelong wellness and vitality.

Journey to menopause and beyond

Womb Yoga is not just about using yoga to assist us at all levels through the journey of perimenopause, or the passage to the great freedom and wisdom beyond menopause. But to practice Womb Yoga is to celebrate with honour and full respect these intense encounters with change as central to a woman's spiritual growth, to her Self acceptance and spiritual maturity.

Women without wombs

Womb Yoga is not even just for women with wombs, because certainly the nurturing and creative energies of the womb space can resonate powerfully in the lives of women who no longer have wombs. And to practice Womb Yoga can be a deeply healing and nurturing experience in the months and years following hysterectomy.

Golden Cosmic Womb

Womb Yoga is an experience of re-connection, a sense of re-discovered grace, ease and delight in the profound power of Shakti, the feminine life force that animates the universe. It is about honouring with spiritual awareness the experiences of girls and women from pre-menarche to post-menopause. Womb Yoga offers a truly nurturing, strengthening and revitalising, feminine approach to yoga that can support, nourish and delight us through the whole of our lives. It can help us to recognise the womb within as a microcosm of the nurturing, held space of the hiranya garbha, or the golden cosmic womb of universal consciousness within which we are all safely held.

Deepest gratitude to Uma Dinsmore-Tuli for sharing your womb wisdom so magnificently with the world.
