Healing from generational trauma is a journey that requires courage and determination. Maternal healing, in particular, involves addressing the deep-rooted pain and patterns passed down through our maternal lineage. These patterns, which often go unnoticed, influence our lives in profound ways.

We’re embarking on a journey of ancestral and generational maternal healing, beginning with an opening ceremony on 20th July. From 21st July, we’ll dive into our healing practice, following the full moon cycle—one full lunation of healing.

When we don’t address it, pain finds its way to the next person. Self-sabotage, unhealthy coping, toxicity, and a tolerance for abuse all seem normal until someone decides enough is enough and changes the narrative. Other patterns that can be passed down include:

  1. Negative Beliefs About Self-Worth: Low self-esteem and feelings of unworthiness can be deeply rooted in family history.
  2. Fear and Anxiety: Persistent worries and fears, often without obvious cause, can be inherited from past generations.
  3. Attachment Issues: Difficulty in forming healthy attachments in relationships can stem from unresolved traumas of previous generations.
  4. Addictive Behaviours: Substance abuse and other addictive behaviours can be a way to cope with inherited pain.
  5. Health Issues: Certain health problems, especially those related to stress, can be linked to generational trauma.
  6. Financial Struggles: Attitudes towards money and cycles of poverty can also be passed down.
  7. Communication Patterns: Unhealthy communication styles, such as avoidance or aggression, can be learned behaviours from family dynamics.
  8. Perfectionism: The pressure to be perfect and fear of failure can be inherited from previous generations’ expectations and experiences.

Healing ancestral and generational trauma is also a powerful tool when dealing with the mother wound. The mother wound encompasses the pain and patterns inherited from our mothers and grandmothers, impacting our sense of self, our relationships, and our overall well-being.

It’s fascinating to note that our mitochondria, the powerhouse of our cells, are inherited exclusively from our mothers. This biological inheritance is a poignant reminder of the deep connection we share with our maternal lineage. Mitochondria play a crucial role in our energy production and overall cellular health, and just as they pass on physical traits, they can also be linked to inherited stress and trauma responses. Healing at a cellular level involves addressing these deep-seated traumas and transforming our energy to break free from the patterns that no longer serve us.

Additionally, embracing ancestral healing rituals can deepen our connection to our lineage and amplify the healing process. Practices such as meditation, journaling, ancestral altars, and storytelling can help us honour our ancestors, understand their experiences, and release inherited pain. Engaging in these rituals creates a sacred space for healing and empowers us to transform our lineage.

Even if the pain wasn’t created by us and it’s not our fault, with awareness when we heal it, we have the opportunity to change the narrative and rewrite the story, benefiting you, your family and your bloodline.
